Digital nomad

Digital nomads

Have you heard of the term ‘digital nomad? These are people who telework, but not from a fixed ‘home’. By working online, they are free to choose where they work – as long as there is a good internet connection. This allows them to work from Spain for a few months and then from Thailand for a few months. Or Hungary. Working and seeing part of the world at the same time.

There are currently around 35 million ‘digital nomads’ worldwide, around 5 million of whom live in the EU. If you feel like becoming a digital nomad yourself, you are certainly not alone. Some of them are true digital nomads with no fixed address, carrying all their possessions in a suitcase or backpack that goes with them wherever they go, while others go away for a few weeks or months in the summer and then return to their permanent home.
