And suddenly, summer was over

From warm to cold in no time

And suddenly, summer was over. It’s still too early to say this is always how it goes, but by now it does seem that the jump from warm (>25°C) to cold (<15°C) happens very quickly in both directions – somewhere around October and May. Luckily, there are still plenty of sunny days, and now and then temperatures even spike back up to 20°C.

The many misty mornings also have their charm, but ten in a row does start to get a bit tiresome.

The autumn colours are beautiful, and when the weather really turns gloomy, we still have plenty to do indoors. For example, we’ve learned that levelling a floor is actually a doable DIY job. Our hallway cellar is now ready to protect all the more delicate plants from the forecasted frost..
